Apple Valley, CA (September 12, 2023) A man was killed on Sunday night when his dirt bike collided with an SUV. Witnesses said that the SUV turned into the dirt bike’s path, causing the accident, around 7:15 p.m.
The rider was driving a 2008 Kawasawki KLX 450R dirt bike west on Bear Valley Road, not far from Navajo Road. A gray Chevy Trailblazer was traveling east at the same time and tried to make a left turn in front of the dirt bike, into the entrance of a shopping center.

Apple Valley Police Department sent deputies to the scene, along with AMR and the Apple Valley Fire Department. Upon arrival, they found the dirt bike rider laying in the road, unconscious. The SUV driver was bleeding from the face, according to witnesses.
The Chevy sustained major damage to the passenger side and the dirt bike was also severely damaged. The man on the dirt bike, described as a male in his early 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies had to close off the 2 westbound lanes of Bear Valley Road so they could investigate the accident.
The driver of the Chevy was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
