      Jose Luis Diaz Cruz Killed In Thousand Oaks Collision

      Thousand Oaks, CA (June 18, 2024) 21-year-old Oxnard resident, Jose Luis Diaz Cruz, was killed on Friday night when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle. The fatal accident occurred around 11:00 p.m. at the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Westlake Boulevard in Thousand Oaks.

      At 11:00 p.m. on June 14th, 21-year-old Jose Luis Diaz Cruz rode his motorcycle through Thousand Oaks. As he drove through the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Westlake Boulevard, his motorcyclist collided with another vehicle in the intersection, according to reports. The impact threw Cruz from his motorcycle and he landed, hard, on the ground in the middle of the roadway.

      The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene and found the motorcyclist on the ground, unresponsive. Paramedics began life-saving measures on Cruz, but it was too late. He had been killed in the collision, officers reported. Sadly, 21-year-old Jose Luis Diaz Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies began investigating the scene as they waited for the coroner to arrive. The driver of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment, according to reports.

      Officers are working to determine what happened in that Thousand Oaks intersection to cause this fatal accident. At this time, they are unsure if drugs or alcohol were factors in this collision. The motorcycle was left in a dented and busted heap and had to be hauled from the scene, officials said.
