(Bakersfield, CA) A Kern Street hit and run crash killed Joe Paul Gongora, 47, in the Taft area of Bakersfield.

On Monday, July 28, at about 10:43 a.m., the Kern Street hit and run occurred. According to Taft police, it happened on the 1000 block of Kern Street.

When officers investigated, they learned the fatal hit and run involved a truck and a motorcycle. The truck driver, now identified as Alejandro Padilla from Taft, struck Joe Paul Gongora, fleeing the scene. 

By the time authorities arrived at the Kern Street hit and run crash site, they pronounced Gongora dead. The Taft Police Department issued a warrant for Alejandro Padilla. Police described him as 6 feet, 2 inches tall, weighing at around 185 pounds.
