Apple Valley, CA (October 17, 2024) Shock flooded the community of Apple Valley following a collision between a dirt bike and Jeep on Saturday, October 12th, 2024. The collision left the rider with critical injuries and tore the dirt bike into two pieces. It all happened around 12:20 p.m. on Outer Highway 18, at Olalee Road. Reports indicated that it happened near Tom’s Famous Family Restaurant’s parking lot entrance.

Initial reports indicated that a white Jeep Gladiator was traveling along Old Highway 18 when it collided with a green and white Kawasaki dirt bike. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but the impact ripped the dirt bike into two large pieces. The two laid several feet apart on the highway, according to reports. Not far from the wreckage was the dirt bike’s rider. They laid on the ground, obviously injured.

The Apple Valley Fire Protection District sent firefighters to the scene. They found the rider on the ground and hurried to their side. It was determined that the biker had sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident. The victim was rushed to St. Mary’s, via ambulance, where they were airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center to receive treatment. Reports indicated that they remain in critical condition.
