Sacramento, CA (June 25, 2024) A 71-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a pickup truck in Sacramento on Thursday night, June 20th. The tragic collision took place at approximately 10:45 p.m. on Stockton Boulevard, located in South Sacramento, near 16th Avenue.

A man was riding a 2004 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Stockton Boulevard on Thursday night. At the same time, a 1999 Dodge pickup truck was stopped at the intersection of 16th Avenue. The pickup proceeded into the intersection, making a left turn onto the northbound lanes of Stockton Boulevard. It did so right in the path of the motorcycle, officers reported. The motorcyclist had no time to react and slammed into the driver’s side of the pickup. The force of the impact sent the 71-year-old motorcyclist through the air before he landed in the southbound lanes, along with his motorcycle.

The damaged motorcycle blocked the southbound lanes as the pickup driver waited for authorities to arrive. Officers said the driver cooperated with them during their investigation. Paramedics rushed to the motorcyclist’s side and found him with life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital to receive further emergency treatment. The medical team did everything within their power to save the man’s life, but his injuries were too severe. Shortly after arriving at the hospital, he succumbed to them. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Officers investigated the scene and reported that the driver of the pickup was not intoxicated at the time of the accident. The California Highway Patrol is leading the investigation and is determined to uncover what happened at that Sacramento intersection.

Everyone at Accident News Now extends our deepest condolences to the family of the motorcyclist killed in this accident. If you or someone you care about has been affected by this collision or one similar to it, our legal team is here to help!
