Fresno, CA (May 7, 2024) The community of Fresno was saddened to learn of a motorcyclist’s death following a collision with a pickup truck on May 6th. 26-year-old Adam Andrew Garza sustained fatal injuries in the McKinley Avenue collision. It all happened quickly right at 1:00 p.m. at the Effie Street intersection, not far from Blackstone Avenue.

Garza was riding a Yamaha Sport Bike east on McKinley Avenue on Monday afternoon, May 6th. As he rode, a black pickup truck was heading north on Effie Street and pulled onto McKinley Avenue, right in Garza’s path. He had no time to react and his motorcyclist slammed into the pickup truck, according to witness reports. Officers said that bystanders in the area ran to Garza’s side and attempted to help him in any way they could as they all waited for emergency personnel to arrive.

The staff in the ER did everything they could but Garza, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The truck driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities following this accident. Witnesses gave their statements to officers at the scene and detectives gathered evidence. The motorcycle had to be hauled away from the scene in a damaged heap. Garza’s mother, Cindy Garza, had created a GoFundMe page to help the family lay Adam Andrew Garza to rest following this fatal accident.
