(Los Angeles, CA) A 110 Freeway hit and run race resulted in a total of four vehicles being crashed into in Los Angeles.
On Sunday, July 27, at about 2:30 a.m., the 110 Freeway hit and run crash occurred according to the California Highway Patrol. It happened on the 110 Freeway, near Florence Avenue.
When CHP officers investigated, they learned two suspected vehicles, a white and a black sedan, raced one another. They reportedly weaved dangerously between other vehicles. During their reckless racing, the black car, behind the white car, tried to swerve around an uninvolved driver when they failed and ended up crashing into them.
The black sedan slammed into the uninvolved vehicle, causing it to spin out and slam into a guardrail. As the black car continued, it struck another vehicle, shooting down the Gage Avenue exit. Along the way, it collided into yet another vehicle on its left, pushing it across five lanes before regaining control.
Shortly after, CHP officers and Los Angeles Fire Department crews arrived, shutting down all northbound lanes on the freeway. LAFD confirmed no one required transportation from the 110 Freeway hit and run race crash site. Police found severe damage to the black sedan and three other vehicles, requiring towing from the collision site. The white sedan involved fled the scene, not stopping to help.
