San Diego, CA (August 26, 2024) A fatal crash occurred in Pacific Beach on Saturday, August 24. A man was running eastbound across the the 4200 block of
Mission Bay Drive at about 8:55 p.m. when a driver saw him and stopped. The motorist was in a large pickup truck.
A 23-year-old driver driving a Subaru southbound did not see the man crossing the street due to the large truck blocking his view. The pedestrian ran into the right front of the vehicle and tragically died at the scene.
The 23-year-old motorist was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. An investigation is ongoing.
