La Porte, CA (August 16, 2023) A man was killed in a 2-vehicle crash on Tuesday in La Porte, California. Kaylob Rice, 22, was arrested for DUI causing injury and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.

The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened around 7:05 p.m on Quincy La Porte Road. Rice was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram 2500, traveling south on Quincy La Porte Road, just south of Forbestown Road. At the same time, a man from Clipper Mills, 59, was driving a 1995 Chevy Blazer north on the same road. The two vehicles collided, head-on.
The driver of the Chevy Blazer was killed in the collision. CHP said that Rice showed distinct signs of drug impairment and was arrested. He was taken to Adventist Health + Rideout for medical treatment, according to California Highway Patrol. Once he was released, he was booked at the Yuba County Jail.
