Anaheim, CA (September 23, 2024) A deadly collision occurred on a connector road to the Riverside (91) Freeway in Anaheim. It happened at approximately 2:25 a.m. and claimed one person’s life. The tragic accident took place near State Route 241 and the Riverside (91) Freeway, officers reported.
Vehicles headed along the Riverside (91) Freeway and State Route 241 in Anaheim just after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024. Just before 2:30 a.m., a white Honda Civic began driving the wrong-way on a the connector road to State Route 241 and the Riverside (91) Freeway. The Honda slammed into another vehicle, according to reports. The impact thew a woman through the windshield, officers reported.
Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles with heavy damage. They also found a woman who had been ejected from one of the vehicles. There were also reports of one person’s death, however it is unclear if the victim was the woman who was thrown or someone else. A coroner arrived at the scene around 3:00 a.m., officers reported. Officers issued a SigAlert and closed the east and west lanes of the 91 Freeway transition road.
Detectives at the scene gathered evidence and are working diligently to piece together what exactly happened to cause this fatal collision in Anaheim. Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway and crews worked as quickly as they could to clear the debris and glass from the scene.
