Two vehicles were heading on Shaw Avenue on Thursday evening, June 20th. The vehicle in the front slowed to make a left turn onto Inianola Avenue. The car behind it failed to stop, though, and slammed into the back of the turning vehicle. Someone called 911 and the two vehicles blocked part of the roadway, reports indicated.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the driver of the vehicle that had been hit unresponsive. The victim, said to be in her 80s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene by authorities. The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her 40s, had received major injuries in the accident, officers said.
