Buena Park, CA (April 22, 2024) A tragic accident took place in Buena Park early Saturday morning, April 20th. It was just before 4:00 a.m. when the driver of a vehicle lost control and crashed into a traffic signal on Beach Boulevard. Sadly, two people lost their lives in this collision and two others were left with major injuries, reports indicated.

At approximately 3:47 a.m., the driver of a vehicle lost control on Beach Boulevard, near Cascade Way in Buena Park. The vehicle crashed, at a significantly high speed, into a traffic signal just south of Malvern Avenue. The vehicle had a little spark that ignited and eventually spread, covering at least half of the car in flames.

The Orange County Fire Authority  were the first to arrive at the scene and quickly extinguished the flames. Once the fire had been eliminated, firefighters removed two passengers from the backseat of the vehicle. They were both rushed to a medical center, via ambulance, to receive treatment. Officers found two other men, said to be in their 30s, in the front seat. One was the driver and the other the front seat passenger. Unfortunately, they had both been killed in the collision and were pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers investigated the scene while they waited for the coroner to arrive. A tow truck had to come and remove the damaged vehicles from the area and crews cleaned the glass and debris off the ground. Officers are not entirely sure what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle and crash. They are investigating this collision and ask that anyone with information call the Buena Park Police Department.
