Foothill Farms, CA (Augsut 29, 2024) A tragic accident occurred in Foothill Farms on Friday afternoon, August 23rd, 2024. Three vehicles collided in Foothill Farms, claiming the life of a 76-year-old man, identified as Sacramento resident, Charles Bourassa. Reports indicated that the accident happened at approximately 2:40 p.m. on Elkhorn Boulevard, not far from Andrea Boulevard.
A pickup truck was traveling east along Elkhorn Boulevard and slammed into the back of a van that was driving in front of him. The impact caused the driver of the van to lose control and he crashed into a pole on the side of the road. The pickup truck then collided with the vehicle traveling in front of the van on Elkhorn.
First responders arrived at the scene and found the drivers of the sedan and pickup truck uninjured. However, Bourassa, who was driving the van, had sustained life-threatening injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, according to Officer Justin Fetterly with the CHP. The medical staff at the hospital did everything they could to save him, but he passed away the following day. Charles Bourassa was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officers continue to investigate this accident to better understand what exactly happened to cause this crash in Foothill Farms. Witnesses said tow trucks were seen removing the damaged vehicles from Elkhorn Boulevard following the accident.
