Pittsburg, CA (August 11, 2024) Four vehicles were involved in a collision on State Route 4 in Pittsburg on Friday afternoon, August 9th. The multi-vehicle accident occurred just after 3:00 p.m. and left one person with injuries, according to official reports. It all happened near Bailey Road on the eastbound lanes of the highway.

A Toyota Camry sedan, a green Ford Ranger pickup truck, a gray Toyota Corolla and a Chevy SUV were all involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Pittsburg. The cause of this accident is still unknown, but the collision left the vehicles blocking the roadway and causing significant traffic delays, reports indicated.

Officers with the California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the four vehicles in the middle of the highway. Traffic had to be directed around the accident, reports indicated, and ambulances made their way through the traffic and arrived at the scene. They hurried to the vehicles and found the driver of the gray Toyota bleeding, officers reported. Officers stated that the victim had head trauma and was rushed to a nearby hospital to receive emergency care. The victim was alert and told paramedics that their hands were going numb.

Detectives arrived at the scene and found every piece of evidence available. They also took statements from those involved, as well as from witnesses. They are working diligently to determine what happened on State Route 4 that afternoon, as well as who was responsible. Following the initial investigation, officers requested tow trucks to come to the scene and remove the Chevrolet SUV. Officers reported that it had sustained extensive damage to its left side during the collision.
