Sacramento, CA (May 3, 2024) Chaos ensued as two vehicles approached a Sacramento intersection on Thursday, May 2nd. The vehicles collided at the intersection of Northgate Boulevard and West El Camino in the South Natomas area of Sacramento. The sounds of metal crashing into metal filled the afternoon air and was quickly followed by the sound of sirens just after 3:30 p.m.

It was a typical Thursday afternoon in the South Natomas neighborhood of Sacramento. Vehicles approached the intersection of Northgate Boulevard and West El Camino, and continued through without incident. Suddenly, for reasons still unknown, two vehicles drove through the intersection from different directions and collided in the middle of the intersection. The two-vehicle collision blocked the intersection, causing traffic to back up, officers said.

The Sacramento Police Department arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles with major damage, sitting in the middle of the intersection. Debris littered the roadway in every direction and cars were backed up at every street. Officers closed the intersection as paramedics evaluated those involved in the collision. They found one person with serious injuries and rushed them to a local hospital to receive treatment. They found another person who had minor injuries from the collision. They were treated at the scene, reports indicated.

Investigators gathered evidence and took statements from witnesses, as well as those involved in this two-vehicle accident. Crews worked to clean the debris from the scene and the two vehicles were removed from the intersection. Officers are still working this case to determine what exactly led to this collision and who was at fault.
