Roseville, CA (August 4, 2023) A vehicle hit a transformer early Friday morning, knocking out electricity for hundreds in the area. According to the Roseville Fire Department, the collision occurred at approximately 6:30 a.m. when a driver lost control of their vehicle and hit a 12kv transformer. It all took place on Blue Oaks Boulevard.

The driver of the vehicle wasn’t injured and exited the vehicle. The transformer that was hit, caught on fire and hundreds of people in the area immediately lost power. Crews on the scene had to wait until Roseville Electric said the transformer had been de-energized before they could put out the fire.
Crews worked diligently to clean up the site and restore power to the community.
