Kern County, CA (November 21, 2023) – A person was tragically struck in Kern County, California on Friday, November 17th in a serious pedestrian accident on Schuster Road. According to local newspaper, the Bakersfield Californian, the accident took place at the intersection with Benner Street near Delano.
Reports show that a 2007 Cadillac was driving north on Benner Street and failed to stop at the stop sign posted at the intersection. The Cadillac then collided with an oncoming 2018 Ford. The driver of the Ford lost control from the sudden impact, causing the Ford to hit a pedestrian who was standing by a mailbox and their parked Chevrolet. The pedestrian suffered severe injuries in the accident and the driver of the Cadillac fled the scene of the accident without stopping to help.

Paramedics were soon on scene and transported the victim to Kern Medical center where he was treated with major injuries. Sadly, the man passed away on Sunday, November 19th around 12:30 p.m.
