San Bernardino, CA (October 28, 2024) A fatal collision between several vehicles occurred on the 15 Freeway in San Bernardino. It happened on Saturday afternoon, October 26th, just after 1:00 p.m. Tragically, one person was killed in this collision, according to reports.
A gray Chevy pickup truck was speeding along the 15 Freeway in San Bernardino on Saturday afternoon. The pickup was just north of Interstate 215 when the driver suddenly lost control, reports indicated. The vehicle crashed into three vehicles on the freeway before slamming into the guardrail on the side of the roadway. Traffic on the freeway was delayed as the four damaged vehicles blocked traffic and debris littered the roadway in every direction. At approximately 1:09 p.m., dispatchers began receiving 911 calls about the accident.
First responders arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicles on the freeway. They hurried to the vehicles, checking to see if anyone was in need of medical care. They found one person who did not survive the collision, according to reports. With heavy hearts, officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Officers do not yet know if drugs or alcohol were factors in the collision. However, they do know that speed played a role. They are continuing to investigate in an effort to determine what exactly happened on that stretch of freeway.
