Long Beach, CA (August 27, 2024) Late Monday morning, August 26th, several vehicles collided on the Interstate 405 Freeway in Long Beach. It happened right around 10:00 a.m., not far from the Lakewood Boulevard off-ramp. The collision claimed one person’s life and left a child with injuries, officers reported.

Emergency crews hurried to the scene that summer morning, and found the four vehicles in the middle of the roadway. All four had sustained serious damage in the accident, reports indicated. Paramedics found one person with fatal injuries and, with heavy hearts, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. They also found a child with injuries following the accident. Paramedics transported the child to a local hospital to receive treatment for unknown injuries.

Investigators are working to determine what exactly happened on the 405 Freeway to cause this four-vehicle accident. They are also determined to figure out who was at fault for this fatal accident.
