San Diego, CA (June 24, 2024) A tragic accident occurred on the Otay Mesa (905) Freeway in San Diego on June 24th. Midnight on June 24th seemed like any other time as motorists drove along the Otay Mesa (905) Freeway in San Diego. Headlights led the way as vehicles traveled through the darkness. At approximately 12:03 a.m., the driver of a vehicle had lost control, for reasons that are still unknown, and the vehicle rolled over several times. It finally came to a stop near the Heritage Road off-ramp. As the dust settled, someone called 911.

Paramedics did everything they could to try to save the victim’s life, but their injuries were too severe. Sadly, they pronounced the victim dead at the scene. The second occupant in the vehicle was rushed to a local hospital by ambulance to receive further emergency treatment.

Officers are still investigating this accident in an attempt to discover what caused this single-vehicle collision on the Otay Mesa (905) Freeway. Currently, they are not certain if drugs or alcohol were factors in this fatal accident. Officers had to call for a tow truck to come to the scene and remove the damaged vehicle when they finished their investigation.
