Orland, CA (June 25, 2024) The community of Orland awoke to tragic news on Monday morning, June 24th. A collision at an intersection in their town tragically claimed a woman’s life. It happened right around 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of County Road 24 and County Road M. The victim later died at the hospital, according to reports.

It was Monday morning in Orland as a 2004 Honda Accord was heading east along County Road 24. At the same time, a 2016 Jeep Rubicon was heading south on County Road M. Both vehicles were approaching the same intersection, reports indicated. Officers reported that the intersection has stop signs posted for East and west traffic, but not for north and south traffic. The Jeep and the Honda both entered the intersection at the same time, causing them to collide. The Jeep spun, following the collision, and stopped in the middle of the intersection. The Honda also began to spin and came to a stop, facing west, also blocking the intersection.

Paramedics hurried to the vehicles to see if anyone had been injured and found the driver of the Honda with life-threatening injuries. They quickly loaded her into an ambulance and rushed her to Glenn Medical Center to receive treatment. The medical staff did everything they could, but the woman succumbed to her injuries. Authorities pronounced her dead at the hospital.

Tow trucks were called to the scene to remove both of the damaged vehicles from the intersection. Crews began cleaning the debris from the roadway so traffic could resume.
