Templeton, CA (March 12, 2024) A traumatic accident occurred on March 11th shortly after midnight in Templeton. One person was killed in this tragic collision and two others, identified as Carlos Torres-Diaz, 41, and Aliandro Torres-Gomez, 47, were seriously injured. It happened on Creston Road, just East of Templeton, officers said. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene following the collision, leaving the passengers to fend for themselves.

A gray 2008 BMW 328i was speeding as it headed east on Creston Road. Suddenly, the BMW swerved and went off the road where it then began to roll multiple times. Officers said no one inside the vehicle was wearing a seat belt and all three passengers were thrown from the BMW as it rolled. The car finally came to a stop on its wheels in the middle of Creston Road.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene and found the three passengers seriously injured. The driver, however, was nowhere to be found. Paramedics rushed to help the injured passengers and found that one of them, a 43-year-old man from Santa Maria, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Sadly, they pronounced him dead at the scene.

Two other passengers in the vehicle sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Sierra Vista Medical Center to receive treatment. Officers waited at the scene for the coroner to arrive and a tow truck was called to remove the severely damaged BMW from the roadway.

Investigators are working to determine what caused this deadly crash and they are also trying to find the driver who is responsible. The California Highway Patrol is asking anyone with information to contact them at 805-400-6720.
