Officers reported that the accident appeared to involve two separate collisions. One accident involved two vehicles and the other involved three, officers reported. The collision left one person with serious injuries.
It happened on Highway 99 at Highway 219, just before 6:00 a.m. For reasons that remain unclear, two vehicles collided on Highway 99. Following this initial collision, three other vehicles collided as well, in the same area. Officers believe it could have been a chain reaction collision. The vehicles blocked the roadway, causing major traffic issues in the area.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the damaged vehicles in the middle of the roadway. They hurried to the cars, ready to help anyone who had been injured.
