Diamond Bar, CA (June 29, 2024) The community of Diamond Bar was saddened as news spread of a multi-vehicle crash that claimed a life. The fatal collision took place on the Pomona (60) Freeway, just after 3:00 a.m., near South Lemon Avenue. The accident also left two people with injuries, according to reports.

Vehicles drove through Diamond Bar in the middle of the night. Headlights illuminated the road through the darkness, just after 3:00 a.m. Suddenly, a black Tesla and a Honda Civic collided, for reasons still unknown, in the eastbound lanes of the Pomona (60) Freeway. The impact forced the Honda to roll, finally coming to a stop on its roof, reports indicated. Both of the vehicles had sustained major damaged and were blocking the eastbound lanes of the Freeway, following the collision.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene at approximately 3:07 a.m. The California Highway Patrol was the first to arrive and found the two vehicles in the middle of the roadway, officer Erik Larson with the California Highway Patrol told City News Service. They quickly checked both vehicles, ready to give life-saving aid to anyone in need. Unfortunately, they found one person with fatal injuries. Sadly, they pronounced her dead at the scene and called for the coroner.

Paramedics arrived and evaluated the two injured people before loading them into an ambulance. The extent and severity of the injuries is still unknown, but reports indicated that the two victims were taken to a nearby hospital to receive emergency treatment.

A SigAlert was issued by the CHP and all eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed to motorists for several hours, according to reports. Detectives gathered evidence and are still working to determine what caused this multi-vehicle collision on the Pomona (60) Freeway in Diamond Bar. They are also determined to uncover who was responsible for this fatal accident.
