Boyle Heights, CA (October 29, 2023) – A man was severely injured on Saturday, October 28th due to a DUI crash on Cesar Chavez Avenue in Boyle Heights, California. The accident was reported just after 5:00 a.m. in the 2700 block in the area east of Mott Street.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the male victim was making a delivery and unloading packages from the back of his vehicle. The delivery vehicle was temporarily double parked while the delivery person was completing the job. A vehicle travelling east on Cesar Chavez Avenue struck the victim and the delivery vehicle.

Paramedics were rushed to the scene where they located the severely injured victim. They transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in critical condition. According to some reports, the victim may lose their leg due to the severity of injuries incurred.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the DUI Crash on Cesar Chavez Avenue. The driver, identified as a man, was taken into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
