Las Vegas, NV (May 27, 2024) Sadness swept through the Las Vegas Valley on Sunday morning as news spread of a fatal accident. The accident claimed a woman’s life and left two others with injuries, according to authorities. The two-vehicle collision occurred at Jones Boulevard and the 215 Highway at approximately 4:00 a.m.

Early on Sunday morning, May 26th, vehicles headed along the 215 highway with their headlights guiding them through the darkness. Right around 4:00 a.m., for reasons still under investigation, two vehicles collided near the intersection of Jones Boulevard, according to the Nevada State Police. The accident occurred near Rainbow Boulevard and the Rainbow Boulevard on-ramp and left the ramp blocked following the collision.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles on the highway with damage from the collision. Debris was strewn all over the highway and officers quickly checked vehicles to see if anyone was in need of medical attention. They found three people with injuries, one of whom had sustained life-threatening injuries in the collision. Paramedics arrived and quickly loaded all three victims into ambulances and rushed them to local hospitals. Sadly, the woman who had sustained life-threatening injuries succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The other two victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and are expected to make a full recovery, according to authorities.

Officers closed the section of Highway 215 at Rainbow Boulevard as well as the on-ramp as they conducted their investigation.  They gathered evidence and took statements from those involved before workers began cleaning up the scene. A tow truck was called to remove at least one of the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Officers are still not sure what caused this fatal Las Vegas Valley accident and, therefore, the investigation is ongoing.
