Santa Rosa, CA (June 26, 2024) A 34-year-old woman by the name of Jessica Fonseca was tragically killed in a DUI last Friday.
Fonseca was driving her 2020 Nissan Altima at the intersection of Millbrae Avenue and Stony Point Road that night. It was here that a Fiat 500 struck her after the driver, Charles Philip Rubin, ran the stop sign. He collided with Fonseca’s car, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol reported that Rubin was under the influence. He was booked into the Sonoma County Jail on charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, and felony DUI.
Fonseca, who is from Rohnert Park, was an addiction counselor, her family says.
