Los Angeles, CA (June 24, 2024) Just before 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 23rd, two vehicles collided in the Jefferson Park area of Los Angles. One of the vehicles just happened to be a Los Angeles Police Department vehicle. The accident occurred at the intersection of Gramercy Place and Adams Boulevard at approximately 5:57 p.m.

Initial reports indicated that both vehicles were headed east on Adams Boulevard on Sunday evening. Officer Tony Im with the LAPD told City News Service that a civilian vehicle suddenly made a left turn. As the vehicle turned, the police cruiser slammed into it. Two officers were inside the police vehicle and only the driver inside the civilian vehicle, reports indicated.

Police officers and paramedics arrived at the scene and found the two damaged vehicles in the middle of the roadway. Paramedics hurried to check on everyone involved, ready to give medical attention to anyone in need. They found the two Police officers with non-life-threatening injuries. Both officers were taken to a local hospital by ambulance to receive treatment. They are expected to make a full recovery, according to reports.

The driver of the civilian vehicle was found with critical injuries, officers reported. Paramedics carefully removed the victim from their vehicle and placed them on a stretcher. The driver was loaded into an ambulance and rushed to a local hospital where they remain in critical condition.

Officers took statements from witnesses, as well as the officers involved in this collision, and are working as fast as they can to determine what exactly happened in Jefferson Park. Officers requested a tow truck to come to the scene and remove at least one of the damaged vehicles as crews hurried to clear debris from the roadway.
