Long Beach, CA (June 14, 2024) A morning collision on Interstate 710 in Long Beach occurred on Thursday, June 13th, officers reported. The crash involved at least three vehicles and happened right around 10:00 a.m. in Los Angeles County. Injuries were reported following the collision and reports indicated that four juveniles fled the scene.

It was right around 10:00 a.m. as a white sedan, a semi truck and a pickup truck drove along Interstate 710 in Long Beach. Suddenly, the driver of the white sedan lost control of the vehicle and hit the semi-truck, reports indicated. Witnesses told police officers that they saw four juveniles get out of the white sedan and flee the scene on foot, running on the right side of the highway. For reasons that are still unknown, a pickup truck was also involved in this collision, officers reported.

Emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the abandoned sedan in the middle of the roadway with damage from the accident. The semi-truck and the pickup truck were both stopped on the interstate as well, waiting for authorities. Reports indicated that paramedics did find injured people, but the exact number of victims injured in this accident is still unknown. They were all transported to a local hospital to receive treatment.

Officers walked around the scene and gathered as much evidence as they could before requesting a tow truck to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Crews then worked as quickly as they could to remove the debris from the interstate so traffic could resume. Officers are determined to figure out what exactly happened on Interstate 710 that morning, as well as who was at fault. Authorities are looking for the four juveniles who fled the scene following this collision, according to reports. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Long Beach Police Department.
