Hesperia, CA (August 27, 2024) A devastating collision occurred in Hesperia on Monday morning, August 26th, 2024. The collision between two vehicles claimed on person’s life and left another one with life-threatening injuries. It happened around 4:30 in the morning at the intersection of Ranchero Road and Mariposa Road.

Initial reports suggested that a white Rising Edge Ford work truck and a white 2001 Nissan Sentra were approaching the intersection of Ranchero Road and Mariposa Road. The Ford pickup was heading east on Ranchero Road and ran a red light, officers reported. The Nissan was driving through the intersection on a green light when the work truck slammed into its passenger side. Both vehicles came to a stop in the middle of the intersection, surrounded by debris and glass.

They found the passenger in the Nissan unresponsive. With heavy hearts, they pronounced the passenger dead at the scene. The driver of the Nissan was alive but had sustained critical injuries. Paramedics rushed them to the Hesperia Airport, via ambulance, where they were then airlifted to a trauma center.

Reprots indicated that the driver of the Ford work truck sustained injuries as well, but they are said to be non-life-threatening.

The investigation into this collision is being led by the Hesperia Police Department. They have reported that they do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in this fatal collision in Hesperia.Tow trucks arrived at the scene and removed both damaged vehicles from the roadway.
