Running Springs, CA (May 9, 2024) The community of Running Springs was shocked and concerned following a head-on collision that left two people with serious injuries. The two vehicles collided on City Creek Road (State Route Highway 330) at a 90-degree curve in the road, reports indicated. The accident happened 12:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 9th, not far from the Old City Creek Road turn off.

Initial reports indicated that a flatbed box truck and an SUV were both traveling along State Route Highway 330 (City Creek Road), in opposite directions. They both hit the 90-degree curve in the road at the same time, and collided, head-on. Another driver saw the collision and stopped to call 911, officers reported. The caller told the dispatch operator, “It is bad.” The two vehicles were both severely damaged and debris was everywhere, reports indicated.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found the two vehicles near the curve in the roadway. Both had extreme front-end damage and paramedics found the drivers inside each vehicle, both seriously injured from the accident. They removed both victims from their vehicles and loaded them into ambulances before rushing them to local hospitals in serious condition.

Investigators took statements from witnesses at the scene and then gathered evidence of the collision. They are determined to figure out what caused this awful collision on SR-330, and who was at fault. Officers called two trucks to come and remove both of the damaged vehicles from the scene and crews worked diligently to clear the roadway of glass and debris.
