Las Vegas, NV (October 9, 2024) Tragedy struck the southwest area of the Las Vegas Valley on Tuesday night, October 8th, 2024. Two vehicles collided and caught on fire, claiming two lives, according to reports. The deadly accident took place at the intersection of Torrey Pines Drive and Robindale Road.
A sedan was heading north on Torrey Pines Drive on Tuesday night, October 8th, 2024. It drove through the intersection of Robindale Road at the same time as an SUV, according to reports. The sedan slammed into the SUV and both vehicles caught on fire.
Officers arrived at the scene, along with firefighters, and found the two burning vehicles in the middle of the intersection. Firefighters immediately began extinguishing the flames and rushed to the vehicles, fearing the worst. Both drivers were still inside the vehicles and both had been killed by the collision, officers reported. With heavy hearts, authorities pronounced both people dead at the scene and called for a coroner.
Officers are working to piece together what exactly caused this collision, as well as who was responsible. The cars had to be removed from the intersection by a tow truck and crews cleaned up the charred pieces of debris that remained.
