David Ducoing of Riverside was fatally injured after being struck by an SUV

RIVERSIDE, CA (April 19, 2022) 48-year-old David Ducoing was riding his scooter at around 8:15 p.m. when he was struck and killed by a 29-year-old man driving a 2015 Chevy Suburban.

The accident took place at Tyler Street and Wells Avenue in Riverside. Authorities pronounced Mr. Ducoing dead at the scene, while the Chevy Suburban driver, also a Riverside resident, was uninjured and cooperating with the police at the scene.

No arrests were made after the Riverside accident, but an investigation is still ongoing.

      Liability in Riverside Scooter Accidents

Riders on scooters and motorcycles have much smaller profiles than cars and are more difficult to see by other drivers on the road. The unfortunate reality is that those on two-wheeled vehicles have to be more vigilant than their 4-wheeled counterparts because whether they’re at fault or not, they tend to sustain greater injuries.

Drivers of larger vehicles need to be even more mindful of their surroundings as the size of their SUVs and trucks can obstruct more vision around them, making seeing motorcyclists, scooters and cyclists more difficult.

Anyone injured in a scooter accident or motorcycle accident involving a much larger vehicle should have their cases investigated to see if they’re entitled to compensation and damages.

      Investigating Scooter Accidents in Riverside

Scooter accidents in Riverside, or any other city, can cause a lot of hurt and grief for those involved and their families. These cases should be thoroughly investigated so that those who are hurt and affected can receive justice and closure. We at West Coast Trial Lawyers sympathize with the family and friends of David Ducoing.
