Pomona, CA (July 6, 2024) A collision on the 10 Freeway in Pomona claimed one person’s life on Wednesday, July 3rd. It all happened around 5:30 a.m., not too far from Kellogg Drive, officers reported.
Vehicles were traveling along the San Bernardino (10) Freeway in the darkness of early morning on Wednesday, July 3rd. At around 5:20 a.m., in the southbound lanes, at least two vehicles collided in the eastbound lanes, officers reported. The cause of this collision remains unknown, but traffic was greatly impeded by this collision, reports indicated.
The California Highway Patrol was the first at the scene, according to reports. They quickly went to the vehicles to assist anyone who had been injured in this Pomona collision. They found one person who was unresponsive. They began life-saving treatments in an attempt to save the victim’s life. Sadly, their efforts weren’t enough. The victim’s injuries were too severe and, with heavy hearts, authorities pronounced them dead at the scene.
Officers had to reroute commuters from this section of the interstate and encouraged motorists to take alternate routes. They gathered evidence and took as many statements as they could. They are diligently trying to piece together what caused this collision on the 10 Freeway. Officials are also working to determine who was at fault in this Pomona collision. At this point in the investigation, officers are not certain if speed of intoxication were factors in this deadly accident.
