Los Angeles, CA (August 23, 2024) A two-vehicle collision occurred in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon, August 22nd, leaving three people injured. The accident occurred near downtown just before 2:00 p.m. and left one woman trapped inside her vehicle, according to reports. Traffic issues were reported near the intersection of Valencia Street because of the collision.

Two vehicles collided for unknown reasons in front of 1425 West 8th Street, near downtown Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon. Although there were no fatalities reported in this collision, three people did sustain significant injuries, reports indicated. The damaged vehicles sitting on the roadway, along with the debris that littered the intersection, caused traffic issues in the area.

The Los Angeles Fire Department was dispatched to the scene and found the two damaged vehicles in the middle of the roadway. They found one person who had been thrown from the vehicle, officers said, and a 28-year-old woman who was trapped. Firefighters used specialized tools to remove the victim and paramedics quickly transported her to a local hospital to receive treatment. Reports indicate that the woman remains in critical condition.

A 32-year-old woman was found at the scene with serious injuries, according to reports. Paramedics also rushed her to a hospital where she received immediate emergency treatment. A third person was injured in this collision, but officers reported that their injuries were minor. They refused treatment at the scene and declined an ambulance ride to a hospital to get checked out by medical personnel.

Investigators are still working to uncover what exactly led to this two-vehicle crash in Los Angeles on Thursday afternoon. They are also determined to learn who was at fault. Officers requested tow trucks to remove both damaged vehicles from the roadway and crews worked to clean the debris and glass from the roadway.
