Los Angeles, CA (May 9, 2024) A tragic two-vehicle collision in downtown Los Angeles claimed a man’s life on Tuesday, May 8th. Sadly, 23-year-old Antonio Reyes-Martinez did not make it home that morning. This devastating incident took place on the Harbor (110) Freeway just after 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

A gray Dodge Charger and a white minivan were headed along the 110 Freeway in downtown Los Angeles in the middle of the night. Street lights lit up sections of the freeway as headlights illuminated the road ahead of vehicles. For reasons still unknown, the Charger and the minivan collided at the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard on-ramp.

The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene within minutes. Officer Sergio Garcia with the CHP said they arrived to wreckage that was once vehicles. Both vehicles sustained major damage and debris and glass littered the roadway in every direction. Officers called for the Los Angeles Fire Department to come to the scene and assisted with injured people. Upon arrival, paramedics found the Antonio Reyes-Martinez unresponsive. They were prepared to give life-saving measures but unfortunately, there was nothing they could do. There, in the darkness of early morning, on the 110 Freeway, Reyes-Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.
