Los Angeles, CA (May 6, 2024) The Mid-City neighborhood in Los Angeles was the scene of a rollover collision that left 6 people with injuries on Sunday, May 5th. Several fire trucks blocked the roadway and yellow police tape was placed around the scene. 5 of the injured people were hospitalized following this two-vehicle collision. The chaotic accident took place on Venice Boulevard and left the community grateful that no one was killed.

As vehicles traveled along Venice Boulevard on a sunny Sunday in Los Angeles, the calmness quickly escalated into chaos as two vehicles collided. The crash happened in the 4700 block of Venice Boulevard and caused one of the vehicles to roll, coming to a stop on its side. Officers are still uncertain as to what caused this collision.

Emergency crews hurried to the scene and found the two vehicles in the middle of the roadway. A dark-colored vehicle was on its side and had obviously rolled. Firefighters with the Los Angeles Fire Department had to use hydraulic tools to free one person who was trapped inside the vehicle.  Paramedics at the scene found five people with moderate to serious injuries following this accident. Two women, ages 62 and 51 were rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, officers reported. A 51-year-old man was taken to a hospital in serious condition and two other females, a 13-year-old and a 4-year-old were also taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. The sixth person, a 46-year-old man sustained minor injuries in the accident and was treated at the scene, reports indicated.

A tow truck was called to the scene to remove the dark-colored vehicle that had rolled following an investigation. Officers gathered evidence and spoke to witnesses, as well as those involved in the accident. At this time, they do not know if drugs or alcohol were factors in this collision.
