Ventura County, CA (August 13, 2023) 1 person is dead and 5 others injured after 3 vehicles collided in Ventura County on Friday afternoon. California Highway Patrol responded to the accident around 4:35 p.m. The collision occurred on State Route 1, just south of Las Posas Road.
The Ford was traveling northbound on SR-1 and the other two vehicles were traveling south when they collided. The BMW crossed over the yellow lines for unknown reasons, crashing head-on with the pickup. The impact caused the pickup to go into the southbound lanes where it was hit by the Honda.
California Highway Patrol said that BMW driver was pronounced dead at the scene. One victim in the pickup suffered lacerations.

A 34-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were in the Ford pickup. The 2019 Honda occupants were a 30-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old woman. All victims, with the exception of the BMW driver, are residents of Oxnard, California.
Officers are unsure why the BMW drifted into oncoming traffic. This deadly accident is being investigated.
