Santa Ynez Valley, CA (October 28, 2024) A two-vehicle collision left three people injured on Saturday night, October 26th, 2024. The accident happened on Highway 154 at approximately 8:00 p.m. in Santa Ynez Valley. One of the three injured sustained critical injuries, according to reports.
A two-vehicle collision occurred on Saturday night, due to reckless driving, on Highway 154. Two vehicles crashed in the westbound lanes of the highway, not far from Paradise Road, according to the California Highway Patrol. People inside both vehicles became trapped, according to reports.
Emergency personnel arrived and had to use special tools to free the trapped victims from the vehicles. Three people were found with injuries, officers reported. One person was in critical condition and was airlifted to Sasnta Barbara Cottage Hospital by a Calstar medical helicopter. She remains in critical condition, following this accident. Two others sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were taken by AMR ambulance to a local hospital.

Officers closed the highway for over an hour as they investigated the accident and then cleared the wreckage from the roadway. They continue to investigate this accident in an effort to better understand what exactly happened. Two trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles from the highway and crews worked as quickly as they could to clear the glass and debris from the roadway.
