Dos Palos, CA (July 25, 2023) Two people were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 33 in Dos Palos, yesterday. California Highway Patrol said they responded to a report of a collision around 9:45 p.m. just south of Christian Avenue.
A 75-year-old woman was driving a 2015 Nissan southbound on the highway. The CHP said the driver’s headlights may not have been on while she was driving in the dark.
At the same time, a 2020 Honda, driven by an 18-year-old male, was traveling north on the highway. The Honda was passing a vehicle, unaware of the Nissan. The two vehicles crashed, head-on, killing both drivers. Authorities said the woman was not wearing a seat belt.
