Downey, CA (July 22, 2023) Authorities announced that two people were killed when their vehicle crashed into a tree in Downey around 5:11 a.m. on Saturday morning. Mynor Medina, 27, of Fontana, and Fabian Armas Cortes, 34, were both killed in the collision.
According to the watch sergeant of the Downey Police Department, the collision occurred in the area of Imperial Highway and Downey Avenue. Eastbound and westbound lanes of Imperial Highway were closed from Downey Avenue to Paramount Boulevard, due to this crash.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
