FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (NOVEMBER 12, 2023): One person was killed following a crash at an intersection in Fountain Valley involving at least two vehicles last week.
According to the Fountain Valley Police Department Sgt. Joeseph Zane, the incident occurred on Friday, November 10th in the area of Newhope Street and Heil Avenue, near Mile Square Park. Authorities responded to calls of vehicle in flames at around 12:15 p.m., and arrived on the scene shortly after.

Upon the arrival of authorities, two vehicles sustaining extensive damage were discovered. One unidentified vehicle had burst into flames after crashing into a brick fence in the area. A second vehicle was found severely damage at the intersection, and its debris littered the surrounding roadway.
It is unclear how or why these two vehicles impacted. It is assumed that these were the only vehicles involved, but information is limited.
Paramedics responded to the scene along with authorities, and discovered one person in critical condition. Reports indicate that one person died in this tragic crash, however it is unclear if they were pronounced dead at the scene or were transported to a medical facility.
Identifying information about the victim has not been released.
Footage from the Citizen app captured the vehicle in flames and the other totaled vehicle.
