Santa Rosa, CA (June 27, 2024) A terrible accident occurred on the evening of June 25 in which two cars collided in the Forestville area.
At about 10:08 p.m., a Toyota was heading eastbound on River Road near Martinelli Road. At the same time, a Chevrolet Sonic was heading westbound. Somehow, for reasons that are still unknown, the two cars collided head on.
California Highway Patrol was quickly dispatched to the scene. It’s unclear how many passengers were involved in this accident, but it’s being reported that all those who were injured were rushed to the hospital by emergency medical services. There was at least one passenger in the Toyota who had moderate injuries.
Tragically, the driver of the Toyota Sienna was pronounced dead on the way to the hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet sustained major injuries, according to reports.
An investigation is ongoing to figure out which of the vehicles crossed the double-yellow lines on River Road, thus causing the collision. The Santa Rosa California Highway Patrol encourages anyone with information about the accident to call them right away.
