Palm Desert, CA (September 20, 2023) 1 person was killed and another was injured in a 2-vehicle collision in Palm Desert on Tuesday afternoon. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said they responded to the collision around 2:50 p.m.
It all happened at Washington Street and Hovley Lane, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman, Sgt. Deirdre Vickers. After arriving at the scene, deputies found two vehicles that had collided and people nearby who witnessed the accident were performing life-saving measures on one of the drivers.

Cal Fire arrived at that scene and relieved the good Samaritans. Unfortunately, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The cause of the collision is still unknown and authorities are investigating.
