Adelanto, CA (August 25, 2023) One person was injured and rushed to a trauma center on Thursday morning after their car collided with a semi-truck pulling a cattle trailer in Adelanto. Authorities said it happened on Highway 395 around 5:15 a.m.
A 2024 Peterbilt semi-truck and trailer was hauling cattle, heading north on Highway 395. The semi driver was traveling at about 45 mph in the no. 2 lane when he ran a red light and collided with a Honda pickup. The Honda pickup was driving westbound on Air Expressway, when the two vehicles collided, according to sheriff’s officials.

The semi struck the pickup on the driver’s side, sending it about 20 feet off the roadway and onto the shoulder. It finally came to a stop on the south side of Highway 395. The semi-truck stopped on the highway, blocking the southbound lanes.
The driver of the Honda pickup sustained serious injuries and was flown to a nearby trauma center for treatment. The driver of the semi-truck wasn’t injured and all of the cattle remained uninjured.
