Harbor City, CA (March 12, 2024) An accident involving a scooter rider occurred on Monday night in Harbor City. The rider did not survive the accident and, to make matters worse, the driver involved fled the scene. This tragedy took place on the Pacific Coast Highway around 10:20 p.m., officers said.
Initial reports indicated that the driver of the vehicle was headed west on Pacific Coast Highway when they hit the scooter. The driver fled the scene without even calling 911. The scooter rider was left lying on the roadway with life-threatening injuries, officers said.
The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the scene with the LAPD and found the victim in serious condition. Paramedics worked as quickly as they could to administer life-saving measures, but the victim was, sadly, pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are diligently working to determine the vehicle that struck the scooter rider and, in doing so, hope to find the driver. It is illegal to flee the scene of an accident and the driver responsible must be brought to justice.
