Moreno Valley, CA (August 8, 2023) A bicyclist was killed after being hit by a car in an intersection in Moreno Valley. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said the collision occurred around 5:20 a.m. on Tuesday.
St. Marcos Acosta said a Kia Optima hit the bicyclist in the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Graham Street. The circumstances of the accident remain unclear. The driver of the Kia stopped and waited for emergency crews to arrive to the scene and cooperated with police.

The bicyclist was found laying in the street with severe injuries, according to Acosta. Paramedics at the scene transported the victim to Riverside University Medical Center to be treated. The victim died shortly after arriving at the hospital from injuries sustained in the collision.
The Kia driver was uninjured. This accident is currently under investigation.
