Fresno County, CA (August 22, 2023) A man riding a bike was killed Monday afternoon when a big rig hit him. The California Highway Patrol said the man was riding his bike on Cedar Avenue near Jensen Avenue in Calwa, which is just south of Fresno.

The bicyclist, believed to be in his 40s, made a left turn off the sidewalk and rode right into the path of the big rig in front of Calwa Elementary School. The bicyclist ended up right in the path of the big rig’s rear tires, with no time for him to stop.
The big rig pulled over and cooperated with authorities. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident to figure out what caused the bicyclist to turn in the path of the big rig.
