(Fresno, CA) A man died in a Shaw Avenue crash early Monday, December 29, after he was struck by multiple vehicles in northwest Fresno. Officers responded just before 5 a.m. to the area of Shaw and Marks avenues. Investigators say the 30 or 40-year-old man walked toward a nearby shopping center when two vehicle struck him. Both drivers involved stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead shortly after the crash. (Bakersfield, CA) One person was killed early Monday in a Hermosa Road crash involving a semi-truck and a pickup in foggy conditions. CHP officers dispatched at around 6:40 a.m. to the intersection of Hermosa Road and South Edison Road. Investigators say a 2016 International semi-truck traveled south on South Edison at about 35 mph. At the same time, a Toyota pickup headed west on Hermosa Road at an unknown speed. (Los Angeles, CA) A 32-year-old man died after a Florence Avenue accident earlier this month, and Los Angeles police are asking for the public’s help locating the hit-and-run driver. On December 10 at around 5:15 a.m., near Florence and Kansas avenues, a vehicle struck Tomas Lopez Onofre. When paramedics arrived, they rushed him to a hospital, but died on December 14. Family members believe he had been on his way to catch a bus before work when the collision happened. (Fresno, CA) A husband and wife were killed in a Highway 145 collision Monday night, December 29, when a suspected DUI driver struck their vehicle head-on. The crash happened just before 7:30 p.m. south of Ford Avenue. CHP says Shawn Borecha, 30, of Riverside drove southbound on Highway 145 when he attempted to pass two cars. As a result, he veered into the northbound lane. His vehicle collided head-on with a Hyundai carrying Carlos Pimentel, 69, and his wife, Maria, 62, both Coalinga residents. Officers responded around 8:40 p.m. to the 3700 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard where the victim rode a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound. (San Diego, CA) A motorcyclist was killed early Sunday, December 28, in a Pershing Drive accident near Balboa Park. The crash occurred around 1:40 a.m. in the 2000 block of Pershing Drive when a motorcycle collided with an SUV. The rider, identified as Timothy Scott Lowman, 51, of San Diego, suffered fatal injuries. (Panorama City, CA) A 40-year-old woman was killed in a Van Nuys Boulevard collision early Friday, December 26, after she was struck by a hit-and-run driver in a shopping center parking lot. The crash happened around 4:55 a.m. as an unidentified vehicle entered The Plant Shopping Center from Van Nuys Boulevard. The driver struck the pedestrian, later identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner as Marlene Saravia Bonilla. (Mesa, AZ) Three people were killed in a Loop 202 fiery crash early Saturday, December 27, after two vehicles erupted in flames along the eastbound Red Mountain Freeway near McDowell Road. The collision happened just after 2:30 a.m. First responders arrived to find a 2019 Kia Sorento and a 2003 Toyota Matrix fully engulfed in flames in the HOV lane.
