San Clemente, CA (July 22, 2024) A Caltrans worker was tragically killed while picking up trash on the 5 Freeway in San Clemente this morning. The crash took place around 9:35 a.m. on the northbound side of the road north of Avenue Palizado. Two Caltrans workers had pulled over on the right shoulder to pick up debris. Salinas, CA (July 22, 2024) A terrible crash that killed a pedestrian and involved four vehicles occurred on Saturday, July 20. It happened in Salinas on southbound Highway 101 around 1:07 p.m. A man, 77-year-old Virginio Cortez of Salinas, was changing a tire on his silver Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck on the right shoulder of the highway. Bakersfield, CA (July 22, 2024) Two people were killed and one seriously injured in a terrible car accident in Bakersfield on Saturday, July 20. The crash occurred west of Adobe Road on Buena Vista Boulevard at about 1:59 a.m. A Chevrolet Silverado was heading westbound on Buena Vista while a Chevrolet Tahoe was heading eastbound. For unknown reasons, the two Chevrolets collided head-on. An investigation is ongoing to figure out exactly what happened. Fresno, CA (July 22, 2024) A terrible crash in Fresno County resulted in a fatality this morning, July 22. The collision took place near Elkhorn Avenue and Sonoma Avenue. At the time of writing, reports seem to indicate that this was a single-vehicle crash. California Highway Patrol was alerted to the crash and arrived at the scene to discover that the car had overturned into water near the intersection. Santa Clarita, CA (July 22, 2024) A collision between an SUV and a big rig occurred late Sunday, July 21. California Highway Patrol was alerted to the crash at around 11:47 p.m. It took place at the intersection of Newhall Ranch Road and Highway 126. It’s unclear how the crash began, but for some reason, the two vehicles collided. A man in a Jeep Cherokee became wedged underneath the big rig and had to be freed by firefighters. At about 8:33 p.m., a man riding a motorcycle eastbound on 1700 Grand Avenue entered the bicycle lane to pass stopped traffic on Kendal Avenue. The man, who was riding a 2007 Suzuki motorcycle, was suddenly broadsided by a 2020 Jeep Cherokee. A man in his thirties was driving the Jeep westbound at 1800 Grand Avenue and was attempting a southbound turn onto Kendal when the collision happened. Lake Balboa, CA (July 22, 2024) A tragic accident occurred in the Lake Balboa area early this morning. The collision occurred at about 2:20 a.m. at 17231 Sherman Way. A homeless man was walking in the road when a vehicle suddenly struck him. He was reportedly about 30 years old. Paramedics rushed the man to the hospital, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. Bakersfield, CA (July 22, 2024) A single-vehicle collision tragically ended in one fatality on Wednesday, July 17. The accident took place on Copus Road in Bakersfield a little after 6 a.m. It’s unclear what caused the driver to lose control, but the vehicle went about 20 feet off the road and flipped over. Redding, CA (July 19, 2024) A man sustained serious injuries after a collision on the afternoon of Wednesday, July 17. A motorcyclist named Michael Garcia, 38, was riding west on Hartnell Avenue. Redding Police Department reported that at this time, a woman was reversing a minivan outside of a private property and pulled directly into Garcia’s path. Willows, CA (July 19, 2024) On Tuesday, July 16, a tragic single-vehicle crash claimed the lives of two men. The collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m. The driver, 44-year-old Rodney Yeager of Glenn, was heading north on County Road X in a Ford F-250. For unknown reasons, Yeager did not slow down or turn when approaching the intersection of County Road X and County Road 34.
